The Business Counselling and Facilitation Unit (BFCU) at SEHDA guides potential entrepreneurs to set up a small business and assists existing entrepreneurs to expand, modernize and diversify their businesses. The BFCU also provides business facilitation services such as registration of enterprises, duty free facilities, directory services and provision of pertinent business-related information.
SEHDA endeavours to bring services closer to entrepreneurs and to reach a wider range of entrepreneurs. In this regard, three new outstations have been opened at Goodlands, Centre de Flacq and Rose Belle. Besides, Business Development Officers have been posted at the Ministry of SMEs in Port Louis, to assist entrepreneurs.
Main services provided at these outstations include:
·Business Counselling - Guidance on a specific business idea for start-ups using 9 questions' business plan guideline, profit and loss forecast, project costs and break-even sales.
·Advice for doing first market research
·Guidance to write a business plan
·Information on steps to set up a business as well as necessary permits and clearances required
·Information on various loan facilities including terms and conditions with different banks
·Advice on expansion/modernization of an existing business
·Support to locate further sources of advice
·Registration with SEHDA to benefit from incentives
