SEHDA Information and Documentation
Centre
The SEHDA Information and Documentation Centre is
a knowledge resource centre that caters for the information needs
of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). A rich collection of selected
information materials (in print and electronic media) is available
to facilitate the setting up of enterprises or the improvement
of existing businesses.

Free and open access to a collection
of more than 3000 books, reports, guides, directories, subject
files excluding periodicals.
Subscription to international specialised journals and periodicals
on SMEs, economy, textile, woodworking, footwear and others.

Assistance to potential and existing
entrepreneur on sourcing of raw materials and machinery through
international business directories

Guide to Start-up ideas through a compiled
list of feasible projects and existing model projects.

Selected guides on technology for small
manufacturing industries.

Computerised Catalogue of books using
ALICE software. Search can be done via author name, title, subject
or keywords.

Newspaper clippings from international
periodicals on management, marketing, technology, international
trade and SME related topics.

Provision of articles and reports on
SMEs in other countries.

Internet access (ADSL) at preferential
rates.

Links and network to useful international
sites such as the NSIC, CII and NISIET of India, CSIR of South
Africa, MATRADE of Malaysia , the DTI of UK and other SME support
institution at the international level as well as the INSME
which is an international network for SMEs.

Guided search through Kompass Directory
- an online database of manufacturers and suppliers and exporters
of raw materials, machinery and services in various countries
in Asia, Africa, Europe or America.

Catalogues of machinery from Asian countries
available for reference.

Up-to-date International Trade Centre(ITC)
publications which include selected market surveys, market scans,
export procedures and documentation, standards for export arkets,
guides to published documents on trade and business subjects
worldwide, detailed projects and other useful publications.

Privileged loan facility on a collection
of handicraft products and their manufacturing processes (flower
making, embroidery, figurines, candle making, carving, rattan
ware by-products among others)
